Hey, everybody!! Hope you've had a good week, and that you're looking forward to this weekend! I have enjoyed a restful week... Somewhat unusual for me... :) <Smile> And I am looking forward to visiting my alma mater, Belmont University, tomorrow to participate in an internship fair for students who wish to secure an internship opportunity for the spring semester. Pray that God will send the right help for me... I certainly need it!! :) <Smile>
Thanks to those of you who inquired about the concert I mentioned a couple of weeks ago at the Tennessee School For The Blind... It was a great night! I always enjoy encouraging young people, and it was a blessing to be able to tell those kids to dream big, that nothing is impossible with God! Many of them face challenges that I could never imagine. Living with one disability is tough... Add one or two additional disabilities to the mix, and I would imagine that life can be pretty overwhelming! But they were awesome, and I hope that I will be able to participate in other similar events.
This week I want to take a minute to ask for your prayers. As many of you know, due in large part to the current economy, my main source of income is currently the monthly disability check that i receive from Social Security. This month I was shocked to find that half of my check was withheld, due to the fact that I have supposedly been overpaid. Some of you may remember that I went through a similar situation last year. At that time, I asked a few close friends to pray with me, and a kind friend graciously reached out to help me through that difficult time. What the enemy meant for evil, God definitely used for my good, as He taught me how to abide in His peace. I was also able to secure an attorny who is working pro bono, and I felt sure that I would be able to avoid such a thing in the future. My attorney, who is a fine Christian man, is helping me with things... But for some reason, he seems to be confused as to how he should help, fearful that he will do the wrong thing. Of course, I wouldn't be human if this didn't make me a bit on the nervous side too, although I thank God for the grace He is giving me to take each day as it comes. I have decided, though, that enough is enough!!
I am doing everything I can think of to secure income that will hopefully enable me to be independent of the government for assistance, and I know that God will allow that to happen. I have at least one opportunity as a voice actor that will be great when it materializes. Meanwhile, though, I believe that it's time for these financial assaults to stop... And for that to happen, I need that power that comes when we are agreeing in prayer!! Feel free to forward this prayer request to others who will join us in coming against these financial assaults from the pit of Hell itself!!
Additionally, if you feel that you want to help in a tangible way, I just want to remind you that all contributions to Jana Jackson Ministries are tax-deductible. If you've been a subscriber to JJMNews for any length of time, you know that I have shared in the past about the visions that God has dropped into my spirit concerning the ministry He has called me to embrace. Not only will your gift to JJM be a blessing to me during this tough time, but it will be a blessing to the Kingdom of God as with His help, I am able to make some of these dreams a reality. For years, I have had a strong desire to help visually impaired children and adults to enjoy the independence that adaptive technology can bring. Adaptive technology includes but is not limited to computers that talk, portable PDA's that talk or include a Braille "screen," special software that allows books and important documents to be scanned into a computer and read aloud, and software that magnifies text on a computer screen in a logical way for low-vision users. I know firsthand what a difference this technology can make in the life of a blind person... And I also know that for various reasons, many visually impaired individuals are unable to take advantage of this technology. I believe that the Body of Christ can help, and I want to be a part of making that happen.
Just as close to my heart is the radio ministry that God has given me. I plan to one day have an Internet radio station of my own that will carry the life-changing message of hope through a relationship with Jesus Christ to people all over the world. I'll need a great team to make it happen, and of course, I will need funds for equipment and yearly royalty fees as well.

In addition to prayer, there is one other way that some of you can help which will not cost you a dime. As I mentioned in my last newsletter, I am working very hard to establish a career as a voice actor/voice-over artist. My current challenge is that I need demos to showcase my work. Because of this, I am making my services available for free to the first 10 individuals who contact me. Whether you need a recorded greeting for your business's voice-mail, a commercial to promote a specific event or service, a children's story read, or something that I haven't thought of... Send an e-mail to
jana at janajackson.com
with the word Voice-over in the subject line, and tell me what you need. You may also call Jana Jackson Ministries at (615)309-0540 to leave a message. Either way, be sure to leave your contact info for me.
Wow, I apologize for the length of this letter... I know that you are busy, and I SO appreciate your taking the time to read this!! In spite of everything, I know that our God has me in His very capable and loving hands! If I've learned one thing through this and similar challenges, it is that faith is NOT a feeling!! It IS, however, an actiona, a lifestyle!! And so during this dark time, I choose to follow the advice given in my favorite passage of Scripture, one that I have probably shared before in my letters to you... Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. But in all thy ways, acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths!!" I can't lean on my own understanding right now, because I basically have none! But the God I serve understands ALL things, and He has promised to work this and every other challenge in my life for my good... And He has promised that to you as well!! Look it up... Romans 8:28... And claim that promise over your own challenges today!!
Well, I really am going this time... I did want to let you know that we're taking a break from The Living Room this week, so that I can participate in the internship fair tomorrow. I'll be back next week, though, with the first week of Christmas in The Living Room... It's gonna be fun!! :) <Smile> Have a great weekend, my friends... And thanks again for your help!!
Jana
