Hey, everybody! Wow... Y'all came through again!! Thanks for all of the wonderful e-cards, e-mails, and voice-mails you sent on my birthday. I'm doing my best to respond to all of you, I really am! Sometimes I get frustrated with myself because it seems like I have a hard time getting everything done... Anybody else ever feel that way? No matter how hard I try, I can never seem to get everyone e-mailed or called back in a timely manner... But I really do try, I promise! :) <Smile> I've enjoyed reading every note, and I appreciate all of your thoughtful birthday wishes!

My birthday was an absolute blast! I spent the evening with 2 of my favorite people, 10-year-old Andrew and 13-year-old Jordan. We ordered pizza from a locally-owned pizza place called Pie In The Sky... I only allow myself to order from there on special occasions, like birthdays! :) <Smile> They have some of the best pizza you've ever put in your mouth, along with yummy pastas... And the most decadent desserts ever!! We had a dessert that was basically chocolate chip cookies with all kinds of sinful toppings... The perfect birthday dessert for a chocoholic like me!! <LOL> In between phone calls from special friends, we managed to watch a movie before the kiddos had to head off to bed. Not only did I have a great evening with the kids, but I also received a very special birthday blessing from the Lord. Thanks to the generosity of a kind friend, I was able to finally purchase the desktop computer that I've needed for months! It's not here yet, but it's on its way... And I've been praying over it since before I ordered it!! <LOL> For those of you who don't know, I had a not-so-great experience with a computer from a leading manufacturer a few months ago. God knew that I needed a little break from the hassles of setting up a new machine... But He also knew I needed one, especially one that works!! <LOL> His timing is always perfect, isn't it?!

In addition to birthday things, I was also privileged to attend 2 graduation ceremonies for young people who are very special to me. I think I mentioned that my niece Brianna was graduating on Sunday... Well, she did, and Aunt Jana was there with bells on! :) <Smile> After her graduation ceremony (I'm told that she looked just beautiful!), our entire family headed for an awesome Italian restaurant... Oh, my goodness, there was so much food!! We all had a great time, especially the sweet graduate!

Last night I attended a smaller ceremony that was no less important. My little buddy and adoptive nephew Andrew was promoted from elementary school to intermediate school... And he received a diploma, just like all the big kids!! :) <Smile> As usual, I made a new friend... This time, a tiny little boy who was probably about a year old. He decided that my lap was the place he wanted to sit, and right before the start of the ceremony, he walked to the row where I was sitting, right in front of his family, and started tapping my arm to get me to pick him up. His family was amazed, because he just snuggled right up to me and put his little head on my shoulder. I whispered in his ear, telling him that he would be a fine young man someday, brave, smart, and godly... I don't even know if he's from a Christian family or not, but something tells me that his little spirit knew exactly what I was saying! He left when I had to stand up for the Pledge Of Allegiance, but not before he had completely stolen my heart. It was a precious moment, and God used it to remind me of how He wants His children to approach Him... Just to reach up to Him and allow Him to pick us up and draw us to Himself, letting us hear his still, small voice when we're still long enough to listen! :) <Smile>

Well, you may be wondering about the subject of this week's letter. I'm all about helping a friend, and my friend Simon Cook, program director of The Power Station, has asked me to ask you to help him out a little bit this week. For those of you who don't know, The Power Station is currently the home of The Living Room, my weekly 2-hour Christian-music radio show. Like many ministries, The Power Station has really struggled during these tough economic times. However, thanks to Simon's dedication and perseverance, this station has been used by God to reach people all over the world... The other day, Simon mentioned that there were folks listening in China!! This week, Simon is asking people who believe in the power of Christian music and the Word of God to change lives to commit to listen to the station for at least 1 hour. He would like for you to send him an email with your comments and suggestions concerning The Power Station. He has also asked that all of us would prayerfully consider making a donation of $20 to this ministry. Some of you may feel that you want to do more, and some less... But we're just asking you to consider making a small donation to this ministry that has so much potential to change lives. I'm amazed that Simon has been able to do so much with such limited resources... Talk about God multiplying what we give to him!! :) <Smile> When you give the station a listen, I think you'll agree!! Whether you're actually working at your computer or not, more and more people are discovering how much fun it is to tune in to Internet radio... Why not join them?! I can promise you that you'll be blessed by this fabulous ministry! Because of some problems with the donation link on The Power Station's site, Simon has asked that you use PayPal if you have it... Send your donations , along with your feedback, to him at
simon at thepowerstation.uk.com

Don't forget to join me in The Living Room again this Friday... 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. EST, 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. CST. It's a rockin' 2 hours of praise and worship, contemporary Christian, and urban gospel music... Plus, some comedy thrown in for good measure!! You can catch the show at
http://thepowerstation.uk.com
I'm SO blessed to be a part of this station and to help this ministry in a small way. In fact, I'm about to turn on some music while I fix some lunch! Want to join me?! I have ice cream!! <LOL>

Well, wherever you are, I pray that you're enjoying a great day... And I hope the weather is finally getting warm where you are! Winter just hasn't wanted to let go of a lot of parts of the country, including Tennessee... But I'm thankful that it seems to have finally been defeated for 2009!! :) <Smile> Have a blessed rest of the week, everyone... Love ya!!

Jana
