[JJMNews] Update On Tony

Hi, everybody!  Wow, I have been overwhelmed by your responses to yesterday's email!!  I talked with Eleanor, Tony's mom, last night, and I assured her that literally hundreds of people are lifting up Tony and his family in prayer.  In all the emotion, I forgot to mention that sweet Eleanor is in poor health herself and was unable to make the trip from Griffin, Georgia to Houston to be with her son.  Those of you who are mothers can probably imagine how devastated this precious woman must feel!!

Tony is still with us, but his situation is getting progressively worse.  He is now in kidney failure, and the family has decided to begin taking him off of all the medications, except for pain meds.  Tony is in God's capable hands now.  I am still praying for that miracle, but I'm thankful that we have a loving Father who can be trusted, no matter how bleak things look.  Ironically, when I was in a similar situation a couple of years ago, watching my dad slipping closer and closer to his Heavenly Home, it was my friend Tony who comforted me the most, probably because he has fought his own battles with such courage and strength!  He has always been about helping and encouraging people.  His mom told me last night that he had just finished writing an autobiography and about 10 songs for a book/CD project designed to bring hope to those who are facing a serious illness.  Whether God answers our prayers in the way we would like or not, I KNOW that the world will still be blessed by the song of hope that is Tony's legacy!!

There are other things that I would like to update you about, but somehow, it just doesn't seem right to go there at this time.  Please continue to lift up my dear friend and his family!  It's at times like this that I am thankful that I have continued to keep this newsletter going... We truly need each other, don't we?!  And I know firsthand the power of uniting in prayer!!
