Hey, everybody! Hope you're having a great week!! I am having a VERY busy and productive one... I've been working around the clock, or at least it feels that way! :) <Smile> My adopted niece and nephew, Jordan and Andrew, are here until tomorrow, and then they'll be back with me on Monday. I'm sure that I've said this before... They are my greatest challenge and my greatest joy!! :) <Smile> I am so proud of them, and I just love watching them grow!!
Speaking of people that I'm proud of, yesterday I received a graduation announcement from my beautiful and sweet niece, Brianna Hughes. I couldn't help thinking back to the first time I held her in my arms... We were instant friends!! Right away I headed for the closest place to get flowers... And I promptly created my own masterpiece in the biggest basket they had... Y'all, it was HUGE!! <LOL> I was SO proud... And Brianna has been makin' her Aunt Jana proud ever since! She and her younger brother, Brad, are SO awesome!! I can't believe they're both in high school, though, and that Brianna will be moving on to college this fall... Sure does make Aunt Jana feel old!! <LOL>
Well, the real reason that I'm writing is to update you about The Living Room. Last week was quite a week!! While I didn't attend GMA (Gospel Music Association) Week this year, I certainly did my best to make the most of it!! I wasn't able to interview as many artists as I would have liked, but I was able to make a lot of contacts for future interviews. And wow, I don't even know what to say about the showcases I was able to attend... I spent a lot of time at the ones that were hosted by the Urban Soul Cafe... They rocked the house with everything from triditional Sunday-morning gospel to contemporary Christian to praise and worship to what I like to call holy hip-hop! :) <Smile> I enjoyed the music, and of course, I managed to make a couple of new friends along the way. If you haven't seen the Dove Awards on the Gospel Music Channel yet, I encourage you to check them out... It was a great show!! Thanks to my good friend, Brian Grisham, I had GREAT seats... And they were free!! I always LOVE free!! <LOL>
For me, a highlight of GMA Week was being able to sit down and talk with my special friend, DeWayne Woods. DeWayne and I met a couple of years ago, and God instantly connected our hearts. His lovely wife Anedra is now my very best Myspace girlfriend! :) <Smile> They are a sweet, godly couple, and I can't even begin to tell you what a blessing they are! DeWayne is an incredible artist... And he has an incredible story of God's power to heal! As a very young man (he's still young!), DeWayne was diagnosed HIV positive. He knew God to be a healer, and he believed for a miracle of healing in his own life. After years of waiting, God finally blessed him with a complete miracle!! I'm excited to welcome DeWayne into The Living Room this week. If you haven't checked out the show yet, this is definitely the week!! And if you know someone who is struggling with a seemingly impossible situation, PLEASE encourage them to tune in as well! We all have to deal with struggles, and our God is ALWAYS faithful to take us through them... I know that firsthand! But isn't it awesome to be reminded that He's still able to do WAY above and beyond what we could ask or think?! You can hear DeWayne's testimony in The Living Room tomorrow, Friday, at 3:00 p.m. CST.
Speaking of The Living Room, we have decided to permanently change the day of the show to Friday, at 4:00 p.m. EST, 3:00 p.m. CST. I'm hoping that the earlier time will allow more of you to tune in, especially those of you who are able to listen to music during work hours. You can check us out at

And if you would like to hear a specific song, or if you'd like to know more about a particular artist, just send me a note at

and I'll do my best to hook you up! :) <Smile>
On a similar note, I'd like to encourage you to bless the wonderful folks at The Power Station by donating to this awesome ministry. If you've taken time to listen, you know that this ministry is maintained with excellence! God has truly gifted my friend Simon Cook with an ability to lead this on-line Christian radio station! He has continued to persevere, despite the many financial obstacles to keeping such a venture alive in a country that isn't known for supporting ministries. Please prayerfully consider reaching out to this station that is reaching not only Europe and the U.S., but the entire world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!!
Well, this letter is the longest I've written in quite a while... Thanks to so many of you who have written to tell me how much you enjoy reading JJMNews! Please continue to keep Jana Jackson Ministries in prayer as well. It's a new season for this ministry, and I need a TON of help from above to make wise decisions. Today I've found myself humming my friend Gary Chapman's simple song, "I need Jesus in my life!" Don't we all?!! I'm SO glad He's there, and He meets us right where we are!! Have a great weekend, my friends... Don't forget to start it out with me... We LOVE ya in The Living Room!! God bless!!
Jana
